The Pousada Solar da Praça has prepared some tourism tips for you.
These are selected tips and that will help you to get the most out of Porto Seguro.
Find the best places to eat, and have fun in this marvelous port city.
There are buses and taxis, but is more interesting and worthwhile to rent a car. If you want to see isolated beaches and hideaways, we advise renting a buggy, and we can help you to do so.
There are daily flights from all of Brazil's most important cities, and also some direct international flights. Porto Seguro's airport is the northeast's third largest in number of passengers.
There are also bus companies that make the trip, including São Geraldo buses, and Águia Branca bus lines.
National and international passengers frequently arrive by sea.
Bring simple and light clothing, even at night, for the open-air bars. For the Passarela do Alcohol promenade, wear Bermudas, airy dresses and loose summer shirts.
Don't forget protective sunscreen, and if you plan a trip on a schooner to Recife de Fora, take tennis shoes and a hat, because there's very little shade.
Nowhere else in Brazil is there anything like it. You have to see it to believe it.
The beach clubs of Porto Seguro collaborate to offer nightly dancing, music and entertainment, with Brazilian and internationally known stars at Carnaval and all year round. Visit them and choose your favorite beach club!
These Beach Clubs are well organized, with free fliers that announce a special event every day.
Here, you can relax and tan in the sun, sip your favorite drinks, have a special meal, and learn the new rythms of Bahia's dances like Axé, Reggae and much more. Here entertainment is the name of the game.
It´s the biggest aquatic park in the northeast of Brazil, and is located in Arraial d'Ajuda.
The Historic City center has become an obligatory tourist visit, located in the High City with a gorgeous view of the ocean and coastline for miles to the north and south.
With the first nucleus of housing in Brazil still in evidence, the High City is considered a monument by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Nacional (National Heritage Institute). The majority of its buildings date from the first century of Portuguese colonization.
Pedro Álvares Cabral, the Portuguese navigator, disembarked here for the first time in the year 1500, discovering Brasil.
Tourists will see the great cross that was built in remembrance of supposedly the first Catholic mass to be celebrated in Brazil, in the Monte Pascoal National Park.
The nightlife in Porto Seguro starts on the Passarela do Álcool promenade, an ideal place to shop for keepsakes and presents.
On a stroll along the Passarela, it's impossible not to purchase at least half a dozen printed t-shirts, due to the enormous selection and quantity of prints from which to choose.
There are innumerable stores where you can find diverse folk art works, such as hammocks, towels, picture frames, jewelry, and other souvenirs.
Also try the famous drink "capeta", sold in the numerous stands along the Passarela, where the locals commercialize this variety of tropical cocktails made with fresh juices and vodka.
There are various sightseeing options ("passeios") organized for tourists. These can last from three hours to a day or more. The most popular are: Recife de Fora Marine Park (a barrier coral reef), the Historical City, Coroa Alta ("The High Reefs"), Trancoso and Caraíva, among others. We at Pousada Solar da Praça, will be delighted to help you choose among the many alternatives.
